A 5,000-year-old tradition, stuck behind a paywall

We spent months with young users, astrologers and existing-app power users. Three patterns kept showing up. Jyotix was the response to all three.

Vedic astrology was gated by cost

A meaningful Kundli consultation costs ₹1,500–₹5,000 and takes days. Most young Indians — the biggest audience — were priced out of the very tradition they grew up with.

Apps offered horoscopes, not insight

Existing astrology apps were full of generic daily horoscopes and upsells. They didn’t interpret your actual chart — they pushed you to buy consultations.

AI was good enough, but no-one had used it right

LLMs could finally read Vedic concepts precisely — but only if you grounded them in the user’s real Kundli. Nobody had built that pipeline for a consumer mobile audience yet.

We didn’t want to ship another horoscope app with coins and upsells. We wanted the real thing — accessible, grounded, and beautifully mobile.

A deterministic computation layer for charts, planetary positions, dashas and Ashtakoot — built in-house so the AI has a reliable source of truth, not a scraped library.

What Jyotix taught us about consumer AI at scale

Jyotix is a free AI astrology app: Kundli, compatibility, and conversational reports. It is consumer-scale, multilingual, and intentionally free. That forced us to care about cost per request, mobile performance, and privacy in a way enterprise pilots often skip.

We use those lessons on client mobile and LLM products: cache what you can, measure what the model costs, and do not store what you do not need. If you want a consumer AI app or a high-volume assistant, this is the case we will walk through on a call.
